Hello. I am Seung Hong Choi, a Professor of Radiology at Seoul National University College of Medicine and Hospital and the Head Professor of the Digital Healthcare major in the School of Transdisciplinary Innovations at Seoul National University.
My expertise lies in Neuroradiology and Molecular & Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and I direct the Molecular and Translational Neuroimaging Lab.

Research Interests
Our primary research interests include:
- Brain Imaging and the Glymphatic System: We employ advanced MRI techniques, including high-resolution imaging, fMRI, and contrast tracking, to investigate the brain's waste clearance mechanisms during sleep. We aim to elucidate the role of the Glymphatic System in neurological health and its connection to diseases such as dementia and brain tumors, validating our findings across various research models, including pre-clinical studies in larger animals.
- Brain-Targeting Nanomedicine for Cancer Therapy: We are actively developing novel nanomedicines, including targeted drugs and delivery systems, specifically for treating brain tumors. A critical aspect of this work involves engineering strategies to penetrate the Blood-Brain Barrier (BBB) for effective and targeted therapy. We integrate MRI for real-time monitoring of treatment response and conduct thorough pre-clinical evaluations in animal models to assess efficacy and safety.
Our overarching goal is to leverage these advanced imaging and therapeutic approaches to make significant progress in understanding and treating challenging brain conditions.
